LOOKING BACK:

A headliner to remember

📷Adam Kennedy

Short and sweet one this month (and late because I’ve been on a much needed holiday - sorry not sorry!).

At the start of January we had our first headline show in a year. North Shields has been good to me this year and I knew it’s where I wanted the next headline to be. You lot weren’t put off by the cold, filling out the cosy Engine Room from the doors opening. Seeing faces familiar and new trickle through the door was a lovely reminder of the amazing community of artists and music lovers in the area. Tommy Arch kicked things off in spectacular fashion, belting his tunes to a captivated audience. The North East’s premium fiddle player - the one and only Niles Krieger - joined us for the whole set, which was a real treat. It felt like songs had a cohesion and country flare that had been missing for so long. There was more singing along than expected, and in songs that were unexpected, like the unreleased Moving Mountains (“THIS HOUSE IS NOT A HOOOOME”). Overall, we all had a blast, and I’m still feeding off of the energy, keeping busy booking festivals, tour dates, planning and scheming.

The set list for the night was:

  1. Better Person

  2. Skinny Dipping in November

  3. Where are all the Good Men?

  4. Through and Through

  5. Moving Mountains

  6. Love is a Fire

  7. Woe is Me (brand new song for this show!)

  8. On the Horizon

  9. Unsympathetic

  10. Ruby

  11. Merry-Go-Round

COMING UP…

Just What I Do Tour 2026

Tour is right around the corner. Zac and I will be heading off around the country to take these songs on the road. The amazing Laura Rosierse of Llively Music has helped us to book what feels like a marathon of shows around the country. From the Isle of Wight to Berwick-upon-Tweed, we have a lot of driving ahead of us, but we’re super excited. Neither of us have ever toured, and the goal is to have fun and try something new. If you have any friends or family around the country, send them my way!

The current list of towns (which seems to be getting longer by the day) is:

  • Newcastle

  • Isle of Wight

  • London

  • Wrexham

  • Stoke-on-Trent

  • Leeds

  • Harrogate

  • Berwick-upon-Tweed

  • Durham

  • Darlington

  • Hexham

The tour starts on Friday 13th - I’m choosing to take that as a good omen…
